54% of attendees identified misalignment across the investment chain as one of the biggest challenges to effective implementation of stewardship. A further 26% pointed to ‘unrealistic expectations placed on managers’ as the key issue.

My highlight of the day was the session with David Russell from the Transition Pathway Initiative (TPI) , Keith Guthrie and Chris van der Merwe speaking as panellists. David kicked off the session with a fundamental question for the investment managers in the room: “Has anyone actually analysed the outcomes of climate-related voting activity?”.
