Net Zero Investor Annual Conference

Last week, I had the opportunity to attend the Net Zero Investor Annual conference. 🌍

My highlight of the day was the session with David Russell from the Transition Pathway Initiative (TPI) , Keith Guthrie and Chris van der Merwe speaking as panellists. David kicked off the session with a fundamental question for the investment managers in the room: “Has anyone actually analysed the outcomes of climate-related voting activity?”. This question helped to underscore the importance of outcomes-focused stewardship.🌱

Today, asset owners are shifting their stewardship approach to assess if companies are truly progressing. On this, Chris van der Merwe shared insights from Brunel Pension Partnership Limited‘s experience in building structured engagement processes with their investment managers — by setting clear expectations and leveraging metrics from Climate Action 100+.
